Twigs, Prints and Flying Pigs, Oh My!

Traci

The 26th annual Eastlake Holiday Bazaar was this past Saturday and as usual, it was a huge success. Jill, Gigi and I have chaired it the past three years and handed it off to Kim who did an amazing job this year. Jill and I offered to help tape off the booth spaces and they were already done by Friday morning! Why didn't we think to do it earlier in the week? We did go down to the school to put up the decorations and it looked very festive and inviting. While we were there, we got a sneak peek of where Jill and Kellie's booth were going to be set up.

Jill has a company called Twig and Print that sells inspirational posters, cards, jewelry and adorable felt ball garlands. I helped Jill man her booth on Saturday and it was a good thing because we were so busy! There were lines all day long. People just couldn't wait to peek through all of the bins of posters. Her merchandise is so appealing that the customers even opted to wait for their turn to peruse the witty, poignant and gorgeous artwork instead of moving on. We had one customer buy 12 prints and frames to send to each of her family members for Christmas presents. I only briefly had time to check out some of the other vendors! We never made it through the whole bazaar. If you didn't get a chance to stop by on Saturday to see Jill's spectacular collection, you can find all of her beautiful merchandise at, www.twigandprint.com

After bedazzling the school, I headed over to Kellie's house to help her with her booth set up. Her company mascot is a cute pink flying pig. I happened to have leftover pink and brown striped fabric from my old company, so we used that to make a banner and backdrop for her information. We did a mock set up in her living room and figured out logistically how to display everything. We packaged everything up with cute ribbon, set the merchandise in festive trays and the stockings were hung by the chimney with care. Just kidding, the stocking was hung on a trifold board but definitely, with care.

Kellie's shop was in the main commons area where she did custom monogramming of Santa hats and stockings. Her best seller this year were personalized pet stockings. Can you say adorable? Kellie also sold personalized napkins for the holidays. They are sold in sets of 4 and are embroidered with cute words and sayings such as Joy, Believe, Gobble Gobble, and Give Thanks. It wouldn't be right if she didn't have a Seahawks themed set included in Seattle so of course there is a blue and green Feast Mode bundle for all your Blue Friday parties or Sunday kick off celebrations. Check out Kellie's Facebook page, Flying Pig Monograms to see her adorable handiwork!

You might be wondering why I am not looking for a job and instead helping out my friends but... I have been doing that also. I just haven't had any luck yet. I would like to thank Haley for not only for helping me with my resume but also assisting me several days over the last two weeks with my job hunt. Her positive energy and attitude keep me from getting discouraged. It is wonderful to hear a young, fresh perspective about the workforce from someone who is full of great ideas.

I am so glad that I got to give back to the girls after everything they have done for me over the last few months with the moving and settling into our new home. As I have said before I have great gratitude for all the giving my friends have done. The saying, it takes a village, does not ring truer. I absolutely loved working with Jill and Kellie the past few days. It is a wonderful feeling to feel needed and have purpose, so thank you for letting me assist. I feel blessed to have received so much magical giving in my life.
